The Firefly series was a Science Fiction series that was canceled even before the first season was over. It was however one of the best first seasons I have ever seen. A movie was made based on the series, called Serenity, the name of the ship (Firefly was the class of ship).
When I saw the Serenity movie, I had never heard of Firefly. I had already moved to Mexico City, and Science Fiction isn’t very popular here, so no one had even mentioned it to me.
I Later got the opportunity to see the movie and I liked it, but I didn’t understand. The movie is quite good however if you haven’t seen the series, you might get a little confused.
The movie is not a continuation of the firefly series. The movie instead focuses on the life of the doctor and his sister who had been manipulated through neurosurgery. If you like science fiction, you’ll love
firefly and you’ll like the movie too.
The actress Gina Torres plays an important role in this series. She was also in Cleopatra 2525 and in the movie I Think I Love My Wife.
